The 2023 ALL DIGITAL Summit took place from 25 to 27 September at the Algebra University College and Telecentar in Zagreb. Over 240 experts in digital skills in the fields of education, policy making and industry came together to share ideas and present their projects and programmes. The three-day summit consisted of panels, workshops, lectures and formal and informal meeting opportunities.

The theme was Skills for a Digital Tomorrow: Empowering Europe’s Workforce in the European Year of Skills. The summit shone a spotlight on the pressing need to empower and equip the European workforce with the essential digital skills required to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape and the evolving job market. Speakers discussed strategies for bridging the digital divide, empowering marginalised communities, and ensuring equal access to digital resources. The Summit highlighted the importance of digital inclusion, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital transformation. In particular, the focus was repeatedly brought back to human interaction as laying the crucial foundation to any technological, virtual, or AI transition.

Among the activities was a series of ‘Lightning Talks’, among which Melanie Mitova from Global Libraries – Bulgaria Foundation presented the ADELE project. Other initiatives presented during this session were projects addressing the digital divide affecting vulnerable people, computer science education and cross-sectoral digital education, media literacy and digital technology, certification, and girls and entrepreneurship in the circular economy.

Other activities in the programme:

  • Hands-on interactive and practical workshops to enhance participants’ digital competencies and explore project-based learning, new learning methodologies, policy updates, gamification and collaborative online platforms.
  • Lectures on digital transformations, providing a deeper investigation of the digital transformation’s impact on the creative and cultural industries, education and soft skills.
  • ALL DIGITAL café, serving as a platform for brainstorming and collaboration on innovative ideas
