At the end of February the second week-long round of trainings for librarians in the NEDLib project was held in Sofia.

The Bulgarian participants were librarians from the regional libraries of Veliko Tarnovo, Lovech, Pazardzhik, Ruse, Silistra, Sofia and Stara Zagora. Together with their colleagues from Greece, Latvia, Romania and Portugal, they attended lectures, presentations and workshops designed to increase their knowledge  of information and media literacy, so that they may become trainers and mentors for their colleagues and library users.

Trainees visited the Restoration and Conservation Laboratory at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies in Sofia (UniBIT), and participated in a demonstration of new technologies held in its AI & VR laboratory. Additionally, participants were introduced to the field of information and media literacy, and worked on their skills for dealing with fake news and disinformation. Their final activity was a presentation on ICT for library research.
