WRITTEN TREASURES OF THE LOWER DANUBE
The “Global Libraries – Bulgaria” Foundation is a beneficiary of the cross-border cooperation program Interreg Romania – Bulgaria V-A with project ROBG-290 “The Written Treasures of the Lower Danube”. The project is financed under Priority axis 2: “Green area”, Specific objective 2.1: “Improving the sustainable use of natural heritage and cultural heritage resources”; Thematic objective 6: “Protection and protection of the environment and promotion of efficient use of resources”; IP 6c: Preservation, protection, promotion and development of the natural and cultural heritage.
The project lasts 18 months. Partners in the project of FGBB, which is the leading beneficiary, are the Alexandru & Aristia Aman Dolj County Library and the Lyuben Karavelov Regional Library, Ruse. The total value of the project is 486,029.02 euros, distributed among the three participants.
The aim of the project is to promote the joint preservation, protection, promotion and development of the written cultural heritage of the cross-border region by diversifying tourist services and developing literary tourism as a main factor for the use and exploitation of common advantages and potential. The specific objectives include the creation of a new integrated tourism product “Cross-border destination for literary tourism Lower Danube”, as well as activities to build a cross-border partner network and increase its capacity for joint strategic planning, management and sustainable development of the Lower Danube.
