During the XXII National Scientific Conference “Libraries-Reading-Communications”, organized by the Regional Library “P. R. Slaveykov”- Veliko Tarnovo on November 16, 2023, the final part of the BIBLIO project was held. The participants received certificates for successfully completed training – handed over by Prof. Ivanka Yankova, director of Center for Professional Education at UniBIT and Spaska Tarandova, executive director of GLBF.
The project BIBLIO: Boosting digital skills and competences for librarians in Europe is aimed at the acquisition of professional qualifications and digital skills of librarians, by creating a system for the assessment of knowledge and skills, training opportunities, as well as the validation and recognition of acquired ones .
The twenty-second national scientific conference with international participation, held in Veliko Tarnovo with the theme “Standardization and methodology in the digital conversion of cultural-historical heritage” covered topics in the field of library and information sciences, bibliography, literary history, print communications and media. The guests of the conference had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the large-scale project of the Ministry of Culture “Digitization of museum collections, libraries and archives – Investment C11.17 of the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability”, presented by the project coordinator Mariana Prodanova. A plenary report on the topic was presented by Prof. Dr. Vencislav Velev, a lecturer at the University of Library Science and Information Technologies – Sofia. Representatives of the large regional libraries from Plovdiv, Ruse, Shumen, etc. took part in the forum, presenting their practices in the field of digitization of library collections and shared their experience in implementing projects in this area.
