In 2014-2015 The Global Libraries – Bulgaria Foundation is implementing a project funded by the US Embassy with the following parameters:

Project objectives:

1. Institutional development of the new organization to ensure sustainability of the results of the Program “Bulgarian Libraries – a place for access to information and communication for everyone”, implemented in Bulgaria for the period 2009-2013. with the financial support of the “Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation”;
2. Preservation of the network of 960 libraries to ensure citizens’ access to free Internet and library-information services.

Tasks:

1. Identification of the Foundation’s needs for specialists;
2. Preparation of a project proposal for the “Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation”;
3. Expert support of the target library network.

Results:
The implementation of the project allowed the Foundation to work effectively, increase its institutional capacity and prepare a project proposal to the “Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation”. The project ensured the participation of FGBB in a number of international events to create contacts and find potential partners for future joint projects.
