The “Global Libraries – Bulgaria” Foundation implements an international project “Financial Literacy in Public Libraries”, financed under the Erasmus+ Program of the European Commission. The project has a duration of two and a half years and will be implemented simultaneously in Bulgaria, Poland, Slovenia and Romania.
The project has as its main goal to increase the level of financial literacy of the elderly, using a new approach and the enormous potential of public libraries as centers for informal education and lifelong learning.
Within the project, a training program and an electronic platform will be developed to give new skills and knowledge in financial literacy to librarians. This will increase their knowledge and skills to support older people in the rapidly changing and highly complex modern financial environment.
