Vanya Grozdanova is a cultural manager with over 10 years of experience in the field of contemporary artistic practices – from the concept creation to the practical implementation, including fundraising, audience development and social media communication. She has graduated Cultural Studies at the Sofia University, as well as the Cultural Management Academy of Goethe-institut Bulgaria.
Her professional experience started as a co-founder and active contributor to the programme of the independent organization eXAF – dedicated to contemporary visual arts and music projects. She was then part of the team of the State Cultural Institute of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the team of the Sofia Underground Performance Art Festival. For five years, she worked as a project manager at the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation – fulfilling the diverse and multi-scale programme of the European Capital of Culture 2019 initiative in Bulgaria. Continued her practice as a freelance event manager within the local cultural scene, working on visual arts exhibitions, One Dance Week Festival, the CONTEXT AiR residency programme of the Plovdiv Municipality, etc. In 2022 she founded the independent project space lo3eto, curating its program of exhibitions and events realized in the space located in the suburbs between two small villages in the Pazardzhik district. Since the beginning of 2023 Vanya Grozdanova has been a team member of Global Libraries – Bulgaria Foundation.
