Four librarians from Bulgaria visited the southern Italian city of Foligno in March for a job-shadowing mobility placement under the Erasmus+ programme. The librarians were Anna Shtilyanova, Director of the Hristo Smirnenski Regional Library in Haskovo; Nina Yankova, a librarian at the G.S. Rakovski Regional Library in Yambol; Mihail Svirachev, Coordinator of the American Center at the Ivan Vazov National Library in Plovdiv; and Yordan Asenov, a librarian at Sofia Municipal Library. All had previously expressed interest in participating in mobility activities organised by GLBF, which aim to help librarians enhance their knowledge and skills in the digital domain and to discover strategies and activities that support library users as they navigate the digital realm.
The job shadowing exchange was hosted by EGInA – a long-standing GLBF partner in cross-border European projects focused on the digital transformation of library users and professionals, such as ADELE and BIBLIO. The Bulgarian librarians, guided by EGInA mentors, had the opportunity to learn about the organisation’s current projects and to observe the preparation and implementation of the annual CREA Cultura festival.. This event focuses on the digitisation of cultural heritage in institutions such as libraries and museums, as well as the application of technology to present heritage interactively to diverse audiences.
The mobility was carried out under Erasmus project 2025-1-BG01-KA121-ADU-000318136, implemented by GLBF as an accredited organisation for the 2025-2027 period.
