On 28–29 November 2012, Deva Complex in Sliven hosted a district thematic meeting on the topic “Innovative Practices for Promotion of Children’s Reading” held under the Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program.
“Network Cooperation and Provision of Ongoing Opportunities for Project Proposal Application” was the topic of the seminar organized jointly by the District Info Point (DIP) in Gabrovo and the Glob@l Libraries network in the district.

On 28 February 2013, the lecture hall of Ivan Vazov Public Library in Plovdiv hosted the first for this year meeting held under the Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program. The local meeting was initiated by the GLB District Coordinator for Plovdiv district but its successful implementation was also supported by the GLB Regional Manager Krasimir Hristov, the GLB e-Employment Consultant Tashka Gabrovska and the GLB PR Manager Natalia Georgieva. Tashka Gabrovska and Natalia Georgieva played more roles – of presenters on the meeting topic and moderators of group activities.

Dora Gabe District Library in Dobrich took part in the pilot project of the Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program “e-Health: Library Webinar”, part of the GLB e-health concept. The library organized health information events for the target libraries from Dobrich district in the form of webinars with the participation of specialists from the Regional Health Inspectorate in Dobrich.

The website of Prosveta 1928 Public Chitalishte in the town of Marten - www.marten.ovo.bg, already provides a link to another website containing comprehensive information about job vacancies in Ruse district. This measure was implemented under the “Library e-Employment” initiative. In addition, the library provides consultancy and assistance to citizens in: designing EU format CVs, motivation letters and job applications.

A new e-employment information service
In the beginning of 2013, a joint activity of Dora Gabe District Library and the Labor Office Directorate in Dobrich was launched in support of employment among the local community. The library’s center for information, reference and bibliographic services provides to all its users, on a daily basis, up-to-date information about ongoing job vacancies in Dobrich and the district provided by the Labor Office Directorate in Dobrich.

In relation to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program and the Employment Agency, in 2013, the library in the village of Dabene has already started its joint work with the Labor Office in the town of Karlovo.

The library at Zora 1990 Public Chitalishte in the village of Pobeda, Dolna Mitropolia municipality, works actively on the “Family Tree” Initiative, as part of the e-culture area, by using new technology for preservation of family memory and creating family trees through collection and digitization of data.

On 12 December, the reading room of the library hosted a training cycle in sexual and reproductive health for young Roma women aged 13–14 years, school goers at Hristo Smirnenski Primary School. Training participants included ten young women, the idea being for them to become trainers in their community after the training.
On 11 December 2012, N. Furnadzhiev District Library in Pazardzhik hosted the second for this year district thematic meeting on the topic “The Library: a Point to e-Inclusion”. More than 50 meeting participants had the opportunity to witness the changes in the cultural and social lives of people living in the region brought about with the support of the Global Libraries Program.
