The program is targeted at supporting initiatives for the preserving and presenting of local cultural material and non-material heritage with the active participation of local inhabitants. Projects which will be able to present specific products in relation with heritage in the course of their work, such as exhibitions, shows, performances, books, discs, etc., will be financed with priority.
The 4th ICT PSP call for proposals will be launched in January 2010 and close in June 2010. The Information and Communication Technologies Policy Support Programme (ICT-PSP) aims at stimulating a wider uptake of innovative ICT based services and the exploitation of digital content across Europe by citizens, governments and businesses. The call for proposals is part of the Draft 2010 Work Program. EUR 30 million will be available to fund projects responding to six different objectives under the theme of Digital Libraries.
286,4 million Euro is envisaged for the sixth call for proposals for projects in the field of information and communication technology under the Seventh Framework Programme of the EU. The call was opened on 24 November 2009 and will continue until 13 April 2010.
Electronic Information for Libraries announced that it has been awarded a three-year $1.4 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to spark the development of innovative public library services using technology in transitioning and developing countries.
